Background

Function
CD15 is a carbohydrate antigen formed by glycosyltransferase catalysis and exists on glycoproteins and glycolipids on the cell surface. CD15 is mainly expressed on neutrophils, eosinophils, and some myeloid cells. Through interaction with selectins such as E-selectin and P-selectin, it mediates leukocyte rolling, adhesion, and migration, playing an important role in acute inflammation and immune defense.

Subcellular Localization
Golgi apparatus, Golgi stack membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein
-
Expression
Tissue_specificity:It is expressed at low levels in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells; it is also expressed in immature promyelocytes in umbilical cord blood and in peripheral blood myeloid and lymphoid cell populations. -
Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification
CD15 has 2 isomers: P22083-1: 59084 Da (predicted); P22083-2: 45629 Da (predicted).
