Choline bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is an ionic liquid. Choline bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide can be used to extract phenols and organic compounds from aqueous solutions. Choline bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide can also be used as an electrolyte for low-temperature electrochemical energy storage.
