Downy Mildew

Downy mildew is a group of obligate parasitic oomycetes in the family Peronosporaceae that cause severe foliage blights on higher plants, primarily targeting young, tender tissues under high humidity and moisture conditions, resulting in rapid and substantial crop losses, often destroying 40 to 90% of affected young plants.
