FAM-labeled Bevasiranib sodium is Bevasiranib sodium tagged with the FAM fluorophore. Bevasiranib sodium is an siRNA that targets and silences VEGF-A; it activates the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to degrade VEGF-A mRNA, thereby mediating TLR3-associated inhibition of choroidal neovascularization. Following intravitreal injection, Bevasiranib sodium distributes across various ocular tissues and resists degradation by intraocular nucleases, effectively reducing the area of choroidal neovascularization and alleviating vascular leakage.
