  3. L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium

L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium is a serine racemase (Srr) inhibitor. L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium attenuates the chronic constriction injury (CCI)-induced increases in NO levels, nNOS phosphorylation at Ser847, PKC-dependent GluN1 phosphorylation at Ser896, and the development of mechanical allodynia in mice. L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium can be used for the research of peripheral neuropathy.

Description

L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium is a serine racemase (Srr) inhibitor. L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium attenuates the chronic constriction injury (CCI)-induced increases in NO levels, nNOS phosphorylation at Ser847, PKC-dependent GluN1 phosphorylation at Ser896, and the development of mechanical allodynia in mice. L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium can be used for the research of peripheral neuropathy[1].

In Vivo

L-Serine-O-sulfate potassium (LSOS) (10 nmol; i.t.; twice daily; 4 days) suppresses neuropathic pain-related mechanical allodynia and associated biochemical markers in four-week-old male ICR mice with chronic constriction injury (CCI)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: ICR mice (four-week-old male, 20-25 g, challenged with chronic constriction injury of the sciatic nerve)[1]
Dosage: 10 nmol
Administration: i.t.; twice daily; 4 days
Result: Significantly suppressed CCI-induced mechanical allodynia (reduced paw withdrawal frequency), decreased spinal NO levels (measured as nitrate concentration), increased the ratio of phosphorylated nNOS (Ser847) to total nNOS, reduced NADPH-diaphorase-positive cells in the superficial dorsal horn, and attenuated CCI-induced PKC-dependent (Ser896) phosphorylation of GluN1.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
