N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid is an orally active anti-inflammatory agent. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid inhibits Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced nitric oxide production in murine spleen cells. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid does not exhibit significant cytotoxicity in vitro against tumor cells and BALB/c mice spleen cell culture. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid can be used for the research of inflammation.

Description

N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid is an orally active anti-inflammatory agent. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid inhibits Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced nitric oxide production in murine spleen cells. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid does not exhibit significant cytotoxicity in vitro against tumor cells and BALB/c mice spleen cell culture. N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid can be used for the research of inflammation[1].

In Vitro

N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid (compound 2f) (25-50 μg/mL; 72 h) inhibits Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced nitric oxide production and shows low cytotoxicity against spleen cell BALB/c mice[1].
N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid (25 μg/mL; 48 h) exhibits weak antiproliferative activity against MDA/MB-435, HCT-8, and SF-295 cells[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Proliferation Assay[1]

Cell Line: MDA/MB-435, HCT-8, SF-295
Concentration: 25 μg/mL
Incubation Time: 48 h
Result: Inhibited proliferation of MDA/MB-435 cells by 12.92%, HCT-8 cells by 6.52%, and SF-295 cells by 14.42%.
In Vivo

N-Phthaloyl-L-glutamic acid (compound 2f) (100 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) inhibits predominantly neutrophilic leukocytes (PMNL) migration in BALB/c mice (carrageenan-induced air pouch model) (with a PMNL infiltration inhibition of 61.7%)[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: BALB/c (weight 25-30 g) (carrageenan-induced air pouch model)[1]
Dosage: 100 mg/kg
Administration: p.o.; single dose
Result: Reduced polymorphonuclear leukocyte migration into the air pouch, resulting in 61.7% inhibition of PMNL infiltration.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
