O-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl) O-methyl isopropylphosphoramidothioate (Zytron) is a herbicide. At conventional application doses, Zytron exerts no adverse effects on molds, actinomycetes or soil bacteria in field plots or model systems. Zytron can be degraded by Aspergillus clavatus.

O-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl) O-methyl isopropylphosphoramidothioate (7.5 ppm per year; 7 years) causes no statistically significant adverse effects on populations of aerobic soil bacteria, actinomycetes, or fungi in lawn plots of Mexican silt loam[1].
O-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl) O-methyl isopropylphosphoramidothioate degrades into 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) (HY-B1985) and Sodium O-methyl isopropyl phosphoramidothioate; among these, 2,4-DCP is a phenolic moiety with antibacterial activity, while Sodium O-methyl isopropyl phosphoramidothioate exhibits growth-promoting effects on certain fungi[1].
