A benzophenone and a xanthone from Garcinia Subelliptica

Abstract

A new benzophenone derivative, 2',3',6-trihydroxy-2,4-dimethoxybenzophenone and a new xanthone, 1,6-O-dimethylsymphoxanthone have been isolated from the wood of Garcinia subelliptica. Their structures have been determined by analysis of the spectroscopic data and comparison of the NMR data with those of the compounds previously reported.
