Handling Instructions Technical Support

PVA (Mw 67000, 87-89% hydrolyzed, ~1400 polymerization) is a polyvinyl alcohol with a molecular weight of 67000 and hydrolytic properties. Degree of hydrolysis refers to the conversion rate of acetate groups in the original polyvinyl acetate to hydroxyl groups; PVA (Mw 67000, 87-89% hydrolyzed, ~1400 polymerization) is obtained by hydrolyzing and removing acetate groups after the polymerization of vinyl acetate. Polyvinyl alcohol with different degrees of hydrolysis can be used to form self-crosslinked cryogels and is applied as a biological adjuvant.

In Vitro

PVA (Mw 67000, 87-89% hydrolyzed, ~1400 polymerization) (5 wt%; 3 h stability incubation) coated, 0.1 vol% GA crosslinked PVDF hollow fiber membrane achieves a water vapor permeability of 2890 Barrer and a water vapor-to-nitrogen selectivity of 289 at 25 °C, with stable performance after 3 h incubation in 90 °C water[1].
PVA (Mw 67000, 87-89% hydrolyzed, ~1400 polymerization) (5 wt%) aqueous solution forms a 1.75 μm thick, uniformly adherent coating on PVDF hollow fibers via dip-coating at 1 m/min, with coating thickness matching LLD law predictions[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
