Biological Activity

Description

E/Envelope Protein, Dengue virus 2 (102a.a, P.pastoris, His) is the recombinant Virus-derived E/Envelope protein, expressed by P. pastoris, with C-His labeled tag.

Background

E/Envelope acts as a chaperone for the envelope protein E during intracellular virion assembly by masking and inactivating the fusion peptide of envelope protein E. prM is the only viral peptide matured by host furin in the trans-Golgi network, likely to prevent catastrophic activation of viral fusion activity in the acidic Golgi compartment before virion release. prM-E cleavage is inefficient, resulting in many virions being only partially matured. These uncleaved prM may contribute to immune evasion.
