Periostin Protein, Human (760a.a, HEK293, His, solution)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

Periostin (POSTN) is a secreted extracellular matrix protein that functions in tissue development and regeneration, including wound healing, and ventricular remodeling following myocardial infarction. POSTN binds to integrins and BMP1 to support cell adhesion, cell migration and the structural integrity of connective tissues. Periostin Protein, Human (760a.a, HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Periostin protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Description

Periostin (POSTN) is a secreted extracellular matrix protein that functions in tissue development and regeneration, including wound healing, and ventricular remodeling following myocardial infarction. POSTN binds to integrins and BMP1 to support cell adhesion, cell migration and the structural integrity of connective tissues. Periostin Protein, Human (760a.a, HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Periostin protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Background

Periostin (POSTN) is a secreted extracellular matrix protein that functions in tissue development and regeneration, including wound healing, and ventricular remodeling following myocardial infarction. POSTN binds to integrins to support adhesion and migration of epithelial cells, POSTN also enhances incorporation of BMP1 in the fibronectin matrix of connective tissues, and subsequent proteolytic activation of lysyl oxidase, contributing to the structural integrity of connective tissues. POSTN plays a role in cancer stem cell maintenance and metastasis. Lacking of POSTN causes cardiac valve disease, skeletal and dental defects[1][2].

Verified Bioactivity

Measured by its ability to induce adhesion of ATDC5 mouse chondrogenic cells. When cells are added to POSTN-His coated plates (20 μg/mL, 100 μL/well), approximately >45% will adhere specifically after 30 minutes at 37°C.
