Biological Activity

Description

PNO1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived PNO1, expressed by E. coli , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Background

PNO1 is part of the small subunit (SSU) processome and serves as the first precursor of the small eukaryotic ribosomal subunit. During the assembly of the SSU processome in the nucleolus, numerous ribosome biogenesis factors, an RNA chaperone, and ribosomal proteins associate with the nascent pre-rRNA, working together to facilitate RNA folding, modifications, rearrangements, and cleavage, as well as targeted degradation of pre-ribosomal RNA by the RNA exosome. Additionally, PNO1 positively regulates the dimethylation of two adjacent adenosines in the loop of a conserved hairpin near the 3'-end of 18S rRNA. by similar: 34516797, 25851604

Verified Bioactivity

Measured in a cell proliferation assay using HCT116 cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.4094-0.5623 μg/mL.
