Background

SFSWAP functions as an alternative splicing regulator that modulates its own expression at the RNA processing level. It also regulates the splicing of fibronectin and CD45 genes. The mechanism may involve, at least partially, interaction with other R/S domain-containing splicing factors. Additionally, SFSWAP represses the splicing of MAPT/Tau exon 10. by similar: likely exerts function through interactions with other splicing factors.
