Biological Activity
UBE2J1 Protein, Human (Active) is the recombinant human-derived UBE2J1, expressed by E. coli , with tag Free labeled tag. ,
UBE2J1 is a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme that catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to other proteins. It functions in the selective degradation of misfolded membrane proteins via the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway and is essential for cellular recovery from ER stress. Additionally, UBE2J1 plays a role in the MAPKAPK2-dependent translational control of TNF-alpha synthesis. It also acts as a platform for perinuclear positioning of the endosomal system by mediating ubiquitination of SQSTM1 through interaction with the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF26. In male fecundity, UBE2J1 interacts with the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF133 to exert its function.
