Cat. No.: HY-P1889
CAS No.: 721885-31-0
Target:

Bcl-2 Family Amyloid-β

Research Areas:

Neurological Disease

Bim BH3, Peptide IV is an 42-binding peptide and the pro-apoptotic BH3 domain of the BIM protein. Bim BH3, Peptide IV binds 42 with a Kd of 7.1 μM. Bim BH3, Peptide IV modulates 42 structure, fibrillization pathways, aggregate morphology, and membrane interactions, inhibiting fibril formation while enhancing protofibril assembly. Bim BH3, Peptide IV promotes 42 β-sheet formation and accelerates aggregation. Bim BH3, Peptide IV enhances 42 membrane internalization and bilayer stiffening. Bim BH3, Peptide IV induces neuronal cell death by enhancing BH3-induced membrane interactions of 42 prefibrillar species. Bim BH3, Peptide IV can be used for research on Alzheimer's disease .

Bcl-2 Family Apoptosis

Research Areas:

Cancer

BMf-BH3 (BMF-Y) is a pro-apoptotic (apoptosis) protein containing only the BH3 domain, and also serves as a cellular stress sentinel for actin cytoskeleton signaling. BMf-BH3 binds to pro-survival Bcl-2 family members via its BH3 domain to block their anti-apoptotic functions. BMf-BH3 can be used in cancer-related research .

Bcl-2 Family

BFC1103 is a small-molecule compound whose primary mechanism of action involves interaction with a specific domain of Bcl-2, particularly its loop domain. This interaction induces a conformational change in Bcl-2, exposing its BH3 (Bcl-2 homology 3) domain, thereby switching Bcl-2's function from anti-apoptotic to pro-apoptotic. The cell death induced by BFC1103 is dependent on the presence of Bax or Bak, both of which are key proteins involved in the intrinsic apoptotic pathway mediated by mitochondria. BFC1103 has successfully inhibited lung metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer in mouse models. It can be utilized in studying the roles of Bcl-2 family proteins in cancer development and how they impact the survival and proliferation of cancer cells .
