Description

Tiopronin-cysteine disulfide is a soluble disulfide metabolite/derivative of Tiopronin (HY-B0373) formed by reaction of Tiopronin with cystine. Tiopronin-cysteine disulfide reduces cystine crystal formation in cystinuria. Tiopronin-cysteine disulfide can be used for the research of cystinuria[1][2].

In Vitro

Tiopronin-cysteine disulfide (2-20 mM; 0-48 h) forms as a soluble complex via disulfide bond exchange between Tiopronin (or Tiopronin released from Tiopronin-NO after NO cleavage) and cystine in artificial, healthy human, and cystinuria patient urine, with complete conversion observed at tested concentrations and incubation times, and this complex drives enhanced cystine solubility in urine[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
