Biological Activity
(2S)-2-Amino-1-hydroxyoctadecan-3-one (0.025 μmol) forms a fluorescent derivative that elutes at 7.7 min with a separation factor of 1.3 from its (2R) enantiomer during chiral HPLC analysis[1].
Sphingobacterium multivorum SPT catalyzes the racemization of (2S)-2-Amino-1-hydroxyoctadecan-3-one (1.3 mM; 120 min) to form its (2R) enantiomer[1].
