C16-PEG2000-NHS
C16-PEG2000-NHS is a conjugate composed of hexadecyl (C16, i.e., palmitoyl), a PEG chain, and an active ester (NHS). C16-PEG2000-NHS combines the membrane compatibility of lipids with glucose as an active site for sugar recognition or subsequent conjugation reactions, making it suitable for research in biomaterial construction and drug delivery.

Biological Activity
The structure of C16-PEG-NHS comprises three key parts that work synergistically:
C16: The long-chain alkyl group imparts significant hydrophobicity to the molecule, enabling self-assembly and allowing it to form micelles, vesicles, or embed in lipid bilayers in aqueous environments.
PEG chain: As a hydrophilic spacer arm, it forms a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing nonspecific adsorption and immune system clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
NHS: As a reaction interface, it can react efficiently with molecules containing primary amino groups (such as antibodies and peptides) under mild conditions, forming stable covalent bonds.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
