Description

Glucose-PEG3400-Biotin is a conjugate composed of glucose, PEG chains, and biotin. Glucose-PEG3400-Biotin combines the targeted recognition capabilities of glucose with the high-affinity binding ability of biotin to avidin/streptavidin, enabling applications such as targeted drug delivery systems and nanoparticle modification.

In Vitro

The structure of Glucose-PEG-Biotin comprises three key components that work synergistically:
Glucose: Specifically recognizes and binds to glucose transporters (such as GLUT1) highly expressed on the surface of various cells (especially tumor cells), achieving receptor-mediated active targeted delivery.
PEG chain: Acts as a hydrophilic spacer arm, forming a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system clearance, and prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
Biotin: Located at the end of the PEG chain, it serves as a reaction interface with high non-covalent binding affinity to avidin or streptavidin, and is widely used in signal amplification and molecular capture.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
