N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine
N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine is a polyamine derivative with a free amino terminus. N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine serves as a substrate for spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase (SSAT) and exerts competitive inhibitory effects on APAO and SMO. N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine can be catalyzed to undergo acetylation by recombinant mouse SSAT. It is applicable in metabolism-related research.

Biological Activity
N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine (compound 3b) serves as a substrate for recombinant mouse SSAT, with a Km value of 79 μM and a Vmax value of 0.57 (μmol/min)/mg SSAT, and exhibits substrate inhibition at concentrations exceeding 250 μM[1].
N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine (100-2000 μM) dose-dependently inhibits the activity of recombinant mouse SSAT[1].
N1-Acetyl triethylenetetramine (100-1000 μM) inhibits the activity of recombinant human APAO in a dose-dependent manner; when competing with N1-acetylspermine, it reduces APAO activity to 75% of that in the control group at a concentration of 1000 μM. It also inhibits the activity of recombinant human SMO in a dose-dependent manner; when competing with spermine, it reduces SMO activity to 30% of that in the control group at a concentration of 1000 μM[1].
