N1-Benzyl-N2-phenylethane-1,2-diamine hydrochloride (compound 3) is obtained via the reaction of starting materials with aniline in toluene at 130 ℃ for 1.5 h, followed by treatment with dichloromethane and recrystallization from ethanol. It serves as an intermediate for the synthesis of α1a adrenergic receptor antagonists[1].
