The Neu5Acα(2-3)Galβ MP glycoside consists of the following structures and can be used to mimic more complex natural glycocomplexes.
Neu5Ac: Represents N-acetylneuraminic acid, a type of sialic acid, often located at the glycan ends of cell membrane glycoproteins or glycolipids.
α(2-3): Indicates the glycosidic bond configuration; Neu5Ac is in the α configuration, linked to Gal at carbon position 3 via its carbon 2 position.
Galβ: Represents β-D-galactose.
MP glycoside: Represents 4-methoxyphenyl glycoside.
