ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His)

Customer Review

Based on 1 Customer Validation

The ALDH3A1 protein is critical for acetaldehyde detoxification in alcohol metabolism, oxidizing medium- and long-chain aldehydes to nontoxic fatty acids. They are involved in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived ALDH3A1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Biological Activity

Description

The ALDH3A1 protein is critical for acetaldehyde detoxification in alcohol metabolism, oxidizing medium- and long-chain aldehydes to nontoxic fatty acids. They are involved in the metabolism of corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. ALDH3A1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived ALDH3A1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Background

ALDH3A1 proteins play a crucial role in detoxifying acetaldehyde derived from alcohol metabolism, participating in the oxidation of medium and long-chain aldehydes into non-toxic fatty acids. Additionally, they are implicated in the metabolism of various compounds, including corticosteroids, biogenic amines, neurotransmitters, and lipid peroxidation. This enzyme exhibits a preference for aromatic aldehyde substrates and constitutes approximately 50 percent of corneal epithelial soluble proteins, potentially contributing to the protection against corneal damage induced by ultraviolet light.
