Description
Casein Kinase I gamma-2/CSNK1G2 Protein, Human (His) is an approximately 55.0 kDa human casein kinase I isoform gamma-2 protein with a His-flag expressed in E. coli. Human Casein kinase I isoform gamma-2 may exhibit overexpression during tumorigenesis and belongs to the CKI family[1].
Background
Casein kinase I gamma 2 isoform (CSNK1G2) is a member of the casein kinase I (CKI) subfamily. The casein kinase I (CKI) family of serine/threonine kinases is ubiquitously expressed in a wide range of eukaryotes, including yeast and humans as well as in plants. This kinase family also includes other isoforms (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta). both CKI isoforms except for gamma isoform, can increase the phosphorylation of Dsh in vivo.CSNK1G2 is overexpressed in human cancers, it may act as an oncoprotein during tumorigenesis. CSNK1G2 can acts as an oncoprotein during tumorigenesis. In addition, we found that CKI-γ2 can phosphorylate MTA1s, but not ER, in an anti-estrogendependent manner
