Biological Activity
Description
CDK13 Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived CDK13, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with GST labeled tag.
Background
CDK13-CCNT1 is a cyclin-dependent kinase with CTD kinase activity, essential for RNA splicing. It hyperphosphorylates the C-terminal heptapeptide repeat domain (CTD) of the largest RNA polymerase II subunit RPB1, acting as a key regulator of transcription elongation. It likely participates in RNA splicing by phosphorylating SRSF1/SF2 and plays a role during hematopoiesis. During HIV-1 infection, CDK13-CCNT1 interacts with HIV-1 Tat protein acetylated at 'Lys-50' and 'Lys-51', enhancing HIV-1 mRNA splicing and promoting the production of the doubly spliced HIV-1 protein Nef.
