Description

EGFR Protein, Human (sf9, His) is a glycosylated polypeptide chain with the C-termimal 6×His Tag produced in sf9 insect cells. EGFR, belongs to a family of tyrosine kinase receptors, plays important roles in cell growth and differentiation.

Background

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) belongs to a family of tyrosine kinase receptors including Human EGF Receptors (HER) 2, 3, and 4 which all play important roles in cell growth and differentiation. Their primary ligands are EGF, Heparin-Binding EGF and Transforming Growth Factor α. Upon ligand binding, EGFR undergoes asymmetric dimerization, composed of an “activator” and a “receiver”. EGFR and its family members are disregulated in numerous cancers. In particular, EGFR is overexpressed in many epithelial solid tumors.

MCE Validation Data

  • Bioactivity - ELISA

    Bioactivity - ELISA

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Recombinant Human EGFR is immobilized at 5 µg/mL (100 µL/well) can bind Recombinant human EGF. The Kd is 16.96 nM.

  • Bioactivity - BLI

    Bioactivity - BLI

Loaded Becotatug (HY-P990049) on AHC2 biosensor, can bind EGFR Protein, Human (621a.a, Sf9, His) with an affinity constant of 3.430E-09 M as determined in BLI assay.

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Endotoxin Level

<0.2 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.
