Upon binding to this receptor, there is a down-modulation of the preceding state of cell activation triggered through antigen receptors on B-cells (BCR), T-cells (TCR), or another Fc receptor. Notably, isoform IIB1 is unable to mediate endocytosis or phagocytosis, while isoform IIB2 does not induce phagocytosis. Fc gamma RIIB/CD32b interacts with INPP5D/SHIP1, FGR, and LYN.
