Integrin alpha 2 beta 1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His)
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
ITGA2 Protein, a transmembrane receptor, is involved in cell adhesion, platelet aggregation, and tumor metastasis. Dysregulation of ITGA2 Protein has been associated with various disorders, including thrombosis and cancer. Targeting ITGA2 Protein may offer potential therapeutic interventions in these conditions by modulating cell adhesion, inhibiting blood clot formation, and preventing tumor metastasis. Integrin alpha 2 beta 1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is a recombinant protein dimer complex containing human-derived Integrin alpha 2 beta 1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag. Integrin alpha 2 beta 1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His), has molecular weight of 110-140 kDa.

Background
Integrin alpha-2/beta-1, also known as ITGA2 Protein, functions as a receptor for various extracellular matrix molecules such as laminin, collagen, collagen C-propeptides, fibronectin, and E-cadherin. Specifically, it recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. This integrin is responsible for mediating the adhesion of platelets and other cells to collagens, as well as modulating the expression of collagen and collagenase genes, generating mechanical forces, and organizing newly synthesized extracellular matrix. Additionally, in the context of microbial infection, the ITGA2:ITGB1 complex acts as a receptor for Human rotavirus A.
