Background

The LDLRAD3 protein appears to have a significant impact on amyloid precursor protein (APP) processing, potentially leading to decreased production of soluble APP-alpha (sAPP-alpha) and an increase in the generation of the amyloidogenic P3 peptide. Furthermore, it is suggested to play a regulatory role in the activity and degradation of ITCH and NEDD4 E3 ligases, as indicated by studies. In the context of microbial infection, LDLRAD3 acts as a receptor for the Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus. These findings underscore the multifunctional nature of LDLRAD3, implicating it in key cellular processes related to protein processing, immune response, and viral interactions.

Verified Bioactivity

Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized human ITCH at 2μg/mL (100μL/well) can bind Biotinylated Human LDLRAD3. The ED50 for this effect is 1.503 μg/mL.
