MME Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P72878
COA Handling Instructions

MME Protein, with thermolysin-like specificity, crucially degrades opioid peptides like Met- and Leu-enkephalins, cleaving a Gly-Phe bond. It also catalyzes the cleavage of bradykinin, substance P, neurotensin peptides, angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2, and angiotensin 1-9. Involved in atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) degradation, MME exhibits UV-inducible elastase activity towards skin preelastic and elastic fibers. MME Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived MME protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-His labeled tag. The total length of MME Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is 699 a.a., with molecular weight (glycosylation form) of 82-110 kDa.

Background

MME Protein exhibits a thermolysin-like specificity, primarily acting on polypeptides of up to 30 amino acids. It plays a crucial role in the degradation of opioid peptides, including Met- and Leu-enkephalins, by cleaving a Gly-Phe bond. Additionally, MME catalyzes the cleavage of bradykinin, substance P, and neurotensin peptides, as well as angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2, and angiotensin 1-9. It is involved in the degradation of the atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) and demonstrates UV-inducible elastase activity towards skin preelastic and elastic fibers.

Biological Activity

Measured by its ability to cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate, Mca-RPPGFSAFK (Dnp) -OH. The specific activity is >3000 pmoles/min/μg.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
