NES Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P71762
COA Handling Instructions

NES is critical for brain and eye development and promotes the disassembly of phosphorylated vimentin intermediate filaments during mitosis. It directs the transport of IF proteins and other factors to daughter cells during progenitor cell division, promoting the survival, renewal, and proliferation of neural progenitor cells. NES Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His) is the recombinant human-derived NES protein, expressed by P. pastoris , with N-6*His labeled tag. The total length of NES Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His) is 249 a.a., with molecular weight of ~38 kDa.

Background

NES is essential for brain and eye development, playing a crucial role in promoting the disassembly of phosphorylated vimentin intermediate filaments (IF) during mitosis. This protein is implicated in the trafficking and distribution of IF proteins and other cellular factors to daughter cells during progenitor cell division, contributing to the survival, renewal, and mitogen-stimulated proliferation of neural progenitor cells. In vitro, NES forms homodimers and homotetramers, with a propensity to preferentially form heterodimers with other intermediate filament proteins such as vimentin and alpha-internexin. Notably, the assembly of these heterodimers into intermediate filaments occurs if nestin levels do not exceed 25%. Additionally, NES interacts with FHOD3, further highlighting its involvement in intricate cellular processes (By similarity).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
