ULK3 Protein, Human (sf9, His, GST) is the recombinant human-derived ULK3, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with His, GST labeled tag. ,

Background

ULK3 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that regulates Sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling and autophagy. In the absence of SHH ligand, ULK3 acts as a negative regulator of SHH signaling by interacting with SUFU, inactivating its kinase activity and preventing phosphorylation of GLI proteins (GLI1, GLI2, and/or GLI3). In the presence of SHH, ULK3 dissociates from SUFU, undergoes autophosphorylation, and mediates phosphorylation of GLI2, activating it and promoting its nuclear translocation. In vitro, ULK3 phosphorylates GLI2, as well as GLI1 and GLI3, though less efficiently. Additionally, ULK3 induces autophagy following cellular senescence, functioning as a regulator of autophagy.
