Background
Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) isotype control protein is a dedicated blank control particle that does not contain target membrane antigens and is formed solely by the self-assembly of viral structural proteins. It has the same particle structure, assembly method, and expression system as functional enveloped virus-like particles (VLPs) displaying antigens, thus eliminating non-specific immune responses and non-specific antibody binding signals from the virus-like particle scaffold itself. Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) isotype control protein differs fundamentally from functional Virus-like particles (VLPs) loaded with exogenous target proteins. It contains only pure viral envelope/capsid structural proteins and does not carry any exogenous target membrane proteins, forming blank particles after assembly that do not contain the viral genome and have no infectivity. Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) isotype control protein serves as a negative control for experiments using Virus-like particles (VLPs) and is suitable for animal immunization, ELISA antibody binding detection, FACS cell experiments, and high-throughput antibody screening[1][2].
