Nickel(II) oxide induces cytotoxicity, promotes fibrosis, triggers inflammatory responses, and causes apoptosis. Nickel(II) oxide can be applied in research on the safety assessment of nanomaterials, such as in the context of pulmonary fibrosis and reproductive system toxicity .
