Sulfo-Cyanine7 carboxylic acid potassium is a near-infrared fluorescent dye. Sulfo-Cyanine7 carboxylic acid potassium is applicable to ex vivo histological imaging of the trigeminal nerve in rats as well as studies on the distribution and retention in brain tissues. Sulfo-Cyanine7 carboxylic acid potassium can serve as a model hydrophilic probe for multiplex biomedical fluorescence imaging (Ex=750 nm, Em=773 nm).

Demonstrated significantly higher average radiant efficiency (ARE) values in brain than saline solution group at 10 min, 2 h, and 3 h for MEO-NE solution formulation.
Exhibited significantly higher ARE values in trigeminal nerve than saline solution group at 10 min and 2 h for MEO-NE solution formulation.
Displayed weaker fluorescence intensity than MEO-NE-loaded gel group at all time points for plain gel formulation.
Showed significantly higher ARE values in brain than plain gel group at 10 min, 30 min, and 2 h for MEO-NE-loaded gel formulation.
