SynB1 is a cell-penetrating peptide with blood-brain barrier permeability, derived from the antimicrobial peptide Protegrin 1. SynB1 enhances the cellular uptake efficiency and cytoplasmic localization level of conjugated constructs. SynB1 can be used in studies related to rabies and glioblastoma.

Biological Activity
SynB1 can conjugate with rabies virus-neutralizing antibodies, and physically and chemically "pull" the neutralizing antibodies, which are originally blocked from entering the brain, into the brain, thereby achieving neutralization and clearance of the lethal rabies virus[1].
SynB1 enhances the delivery efficiency of a Notch inhibitory peptide (dnMAML) to glioblastoma cells and facilitates its penetration of the blood-brain barrier[2].
