Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 is a Staphylococcus aureus Topoisomerase IV inhibitor, DNA gyrase inhibitor and antibacterial agent. Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 has IC50 values of 1.32 μM and 0.48 μM against topoisomerase IV, and 0.88 μM and 0.54 μM against DNA gyrase. Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 (compound 6b) (0.78-200 μg/mL) potently inhibits Staphylococcus aureus growth with an MIC of 0.78 μg/mL, and shows variable activity against other tested Gram-positive bacterial strains[1].
Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 (6.25-400 μg/mL) potently inhibits Klebsiella pneumoniae growth with an MIC of 6.25 μg/mL, and shows variable activity against other tested Gram-negative bacterial strains[1].
Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 (0.48-1.32 μM) potently inhibits Staphylococcus aureus topoisomerase IV ATPase activity with an IC50 of 0.48 μM, and shows inhibitory activity against other tested Staphylococcus aureus DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV functions[1].
Topoisomerase IV-IN-3 shows low cytotoxicity against human WI-38 fibroblast cells with an IC50 of 85.56 μM[1].
