4-Dimethylaminopyridine N-oxide efficiently oxidizes most primary/secondary alkyl halides to corresponding aldehydes or ketones[1].
4-Dimethylaminopyridine N-oxide efficiently oxidizes α-bromo esters to corresponding α-keto esters[1].
