6-Azido-D-lysine
6-Azido-D-lysine is a click chemistry reagent containing an azide. 6-Azido-D-lysine is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Azide group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules containing Alkyne groups. It can also undergo strain-promoted alkyne-azide cycloaddition (SPAAC) reactions with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.

Biological Activity
Lactobacillus paracasei labeling[1]
1. Add 1 mM 6-Azido-D-lysine to 1 mL of Lactobacillus paracasei culture medium and incubate for 1 hour.
2. Collect the labeled bacteria by centrifugation (3000 × g, 2 minutes) and wash three times with PBS.
3. A 5 mM solution of DBCO-sulfo-Cy5 (HY-D1068) in PBS is added to the azide-modified bacteria and incubated for an additional 1 hour at room temperature at 100 rpm.
4. Metabolically labeled bacteria are also harvested by centrifugation and washed three times with PBS for further characterization.
