C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) is a bioactive sphingolipid composed of a d18:1 sphingoid base and a 22:0 fatty acid chain. C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) specifically exists in Doxorubicin (HY-15142A)-sensitive cancer cells, and its circulating concentration is positively correlated with the incidence of cardiovascular events. C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) has been widely used in research related to cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, metabolic syndrome, breast adenocarcinoma and other fields.

Description

C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) is a bioactive sphingolipid composed of a d18:1 sphingoid base and a 22:0 fatty acid chain. C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) specifically exists in Doxorubicin (HY-15142A)-sensitive cancer cells, and its circulating concentration is positively correlated with the incidence of cardiovascular events. C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) has been widely used in research related to cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, metabolic syndrome, breast adenocarcinoma and other fields[1][2][3].

In Vitro

C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) is not detected in either parental or Doxorubicin (HY-15142A)-resistant MCF-7 human breast adenocarcinoma cells in this sphingolipidomic analysis[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

The in vivo levels of C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) are significantly affected by various dietary and nutritional interventions: intake of a diet rich in saturated fatty acids increases the concentration of C22 Glucosylceramide (d18:1/22:0) in postprandial HDL (high-density lipoprotein), while supplementation with milk-derived polar lipids or Korean red ginseng effectively reduces its concentration in chylomicrons or plasma in different study populations, respectively[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
