DBO-83 free base (10 µM) shows high selectivity for [³H]-cytisine-labeled nicotinic receptors, inhibiting 85% of binding at 10 µM with no activity against a panel of other receptor types^[1].
DBO-83 free base constricts guinea pig isolated ileum fragments with an EC₅₀ of 3.05 μM^[1].

In Vivo

DBO-83 (1-20 mg/kg; i.p.; 5-7.5 µg per mouse; i.c.v.) free base induces dose-dependent, centrally mediated antinociception in the mouse hot-plate tests^[1].
DBO-83 (5-20 mg/kg; s.c.) free base induces dose-dependent antinociception in the mouse abdominal constriction test^[1].
DBO-83 (10-20 mg/kg; i.p.) free base induces dose-dependent antinociception in the rat paw-pressure test, with a maximum paw pressure threshold of 104.6 g at 20 mg/kg i.p. measured 15 minutes after administration^[1].
DBO-83 (1-10 mg/kg; i.p.) free base shows antiamnesic activity in mice^[2].
