Glucoraphenin (24-120 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose; daily for four consecutive days) modulates hepatic xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes in male Sprague Dawley rats, with the single 24 mg/kg oral dose producing the strongest inductive effects, including a 3.2-fold increase in glutathione S-transferase activity and a 2-fold increase in CYP1A2-linked methoxyresorufin O-demethylase activity^[1].

24 mg/kg (single dose; repeated daily for four days); 120 mg/kg (single dose; repeated daily for four days)

Result:

Increased CYP3A1/2-linked aminopyrine N-demethylase activity to 9.67 nmol mg^-1 min^-1 (single 24 mg/kg), 9.67 nmol mg^-1 min^-1 (single 120 mg/kg), 7.11 nmol mg^-1 min^-1 (repeated 24 mg/kg), and 7.22 nmol mg^-1 min^-1 (repeated 120 mg/kg) from control 5.50 nmol mg^-1 min^-1.
Increased CYP1A2-linked methoxyresorufin O-demethylase activity to 20.67 pmol mg^-1 min^-1 (single 24 mg/kg) and 17.90 pmol mg^-1 min^-1 (repeated 24 mg/kg) from control 10.33 pmol mg^-1 min^-1; slightly increased it to 11.71 pmol mg^-1 min^-1 (single 120 mg/kg), while repeated 120 mg/kg showed no significant change.
Showed no significant changes in CYP1A1-linked ethoxyresorufin O-deethylase activity across any dose or schedule compared to control 33.34 pmol mg^-1 min^-1.
