Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Cyclo (Val-Val-Ile-d-Ala-Trp (Bodipy)-Gly) efficiently detects early fibril-precursor Aβ1-42 oligomers in cell-free aggregation assays. Its fluorescence enhancement effect outperforms that of taBODIPY under both pH 7.4 and pH 8.0 aggregation conditions. In addition, it shows high selectivity for Aβ1-42 oligomers but low selectivity for IAPP oligomers[1].
Cyclo (Val-Val-Ile-d-Ala-Trp (Bodipy)-Gly) binds to monomeric Aβ1-42, and its apparent Kd value is determined to be 0.07 μM by fluorescence spectroscopy titration[1].
Cyclo (Val-Val-Ile-d-Ala-Trp (Bodipy)-Gly) (10 μM; 2 h) effectively detects intracellular Aβ1-42 aggregates in SH-SY5Y cells[1].
