D-glycero-D-galacto-heptose (0.002-20 mg/mL; 1 h at 37°C followed by 24 h refrigeration) dose-dependently inhibits the immunoprecipitation reaction between Eubacterium saburreum T18 antigen and rabbit anti-T18 serum, reaching ~45% inhibition at 20 mg/mL, and constitutes the immunodeterminant of the antigenic T18 polysaccharide[1].
