Citrate lyase is a magnesium-dependent citrate lyase. Citrate lyase is composed of α, β, and γ subunits, of which γ is an acyl carrier protein. Citrate lyase catalyzes the cleavage of Citrate into Acetate and Oxaloacetate. Citrate lyase can be used in research on Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli infections.
