MCP-1/CCL2 Protein, Human (HEK293, hFc)

MCP-1/CCL2 (human) acts as a ligand for CCR2, triggering a potent chemotactic response and intracellular calcium mobilization upon CCR2 binding. It specifically attracts monocytes and basophils while sparing neutrophils and eosinophils. MCP-1/CCL2 Protein, Human (HEK293, hFc) is the recombinant human-derived MCP-1/CCL2 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-hFc labeled tag.

MCP-1/CCL2, Human, serves as a ligand for C-C chemokine receptor CCR2, initiating a robust chemotactic response and intracellular calcium mobilization upon CCR2 binding and activation. This chemokine exhibits chemotactic activity specifically for monocytes and basophils, excluding neutrophils or eosinophils from its influence. Additionally, MCP-1/CCL2 may play a role in recruiting monocytes to the arterial wall during the progression of atherosclerosis. Existing in equilibrium as a monomer or homodimer, it is anchored to endothelial cells by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains of proteoglycans. Furthermore, MCP-1/CCL2 interacts with TNFAIP6 through its Link domain.

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH₂O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
