Biological Activity

Description

PKMYT1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived MYT1, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

Background

MYT1 acts as a negative regulator of mitotic entry (G2 to M transition) by phosphorylating CDK1 kinase specifically when complexed with cyclins. It predominantly mediates phosphorylation of CDK1 at 'Thr-14'. Additionally, MYT1 is involved in Golgi fragmentation. It may also contribute to CDK1 phosphorylation at 'Tyr-15' to a lesser extent, though its tyrosine kinase activity remains unclear and potentially indirect (by similar).
