Ricinus Communis Agglutinin I (Biotinylated)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Ricinus Communis Agglutinin I (Biotinylated) (RCA I (Biotinylated)) is a lectin and histochemical stain that binds to glycosylated residues of laminin A, B, and M chains. Ricinus Communis Agglutinin I (Biotinylated) acts as a sensitive probe for the localization of laminin heavy chains, and can also be used to purify laminin from skeletal muscle via lectin affinity chromatography. Ricinus Communis Agglutinin I (Biotinylated) is applicable to studies of intracerebrally transplanted tumors.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Ricinus Communis Agglutinin I (Biotinylated) (10 μg/mL; 1 h at 20°C) detects the A and B chains of purified mouse EHS tumour laminin with ~5-10 ng sensitivity, and recognizes laminin B chains plus a ~330 kDa glycoprotein corresponding to the laminin M chain in bovine skeletal and cardiac muscle extracts, while failing to detect this ~330 kDa glycoprotein in bovine smooth muscle extracts[1].
