Biological Activity
The xylitan derivative (±)-5f potently inhibits T. cruzi (Tulahuen strain) in infected L929 mouse fibroblasts, with an IC50 of 2.7 μM; by contrast, other xylitan derivatives exhibit varying degrees of lower anti-T. cruzi activity in this system[1].
