Malleobactin E is a Burkholderia cepacia complex homologue with specific siderophore activity. Malleobactin E forms a complex with Fe³⁺ and promotes iron uptake by dissociating CAS-Fe³⁺, with a EC₅₀ of 8.4 μM.
